Worship Team Auditions
Welcome! We’re thrilled that you’re considering auditioning for the Worship Team. This page will give you a clear overview of what the audition process looks like — from expressing interest, to auditioning, to the next steps if successful.
-
To be eligible to audition you must:
Be 18 years or older (anyone younger will be considered for the Youth Worship Team).
Be registered on our database and well known to us through regular attendance for 6+ months.
Have completed official BCC membership via the membership course.
Have served for a minimum of three months on another Sunday Team (e.g., Hosting, Café, Car Park).
-
Auditions are usually held twice a year: January/February and September/October. Additional “interim” auditions may occur depending on team needs or high interest.
-
· Fill out the online serving form (https://bcc.life/serve)
· Chat to the Worship Director (WD) or a Leadership Team member in person on a Sunday.
You will be contacted in due course and invited to audition if you meet the eligibility criteria.
-
Stage 1 – Video Submission
Candidates submit two short videos:One 2–3 minute video explaining why they want to join the Worship Team and what it means to them.
One 2–3 minute acapella video of a worship song of their choice.
Simple phone recordings are fine. Candidates will be invited to Stage 2 based on these videos.
Stage 2 – In-Person Audition
The in-person audition is conducted with the Worship Director and 2–3 other worship leaders or vocalists. Candidates should prepare two songs:One they are very comfortable with (any song).
One from a BCC set list from the past year.
The audition includes a get-to-know-you chat, singing unaccompanied, and some vocal workshopping with team members, including harmonization exercises.
-
For instrumentalists, the process varies depending on experience.
Experienced musicians may be invited to shadow or participate in rehearsals directly to assess how they integrate with the team.
Less experienced candidates may have a one-on-one audition with the Worship Director first to demonstrate competency. If successful, they progress to a rehearsal-based audition to evaluate team performance.
Competencies required depend on the instrument and current team needs.
-
Results are communicated via WhatsApp in the week following the audition. There are three possible outcomes:
Successful – Ready to Start: Begin the Onboarding & Training pathway immediately.
Successful – Waiting: Integration depends on opportunity or further development (bespoke arrangement).
Unsuccessful/Released: Feedback is provided. Re-audition is possible after a minimum of one year and contingent on addressing feedback.
-
All in-person auditions take place in the church building.
Ad-hoc auditions are possible, but standard windows are Jan/Feb and Sep/Oct.
Waitlists may apply: Vocalists often have 6–12 months of waiting; instrumentalists’ integration can vary depending on need and skill.

We are set apart to worship God and bless the city.
We are disciples of Jesus, devoted to the call and serious about the craft. We steward the worship life of the church, equipping people to be passionate worshippers in their own right, not passive consumers.
Our worship flows from deep joy and holy reverence, expressed in every way — from loud celebration to quiet surrender, from heartfelt praise to divine encounter. In worship, we cultivate a space where people are changed, gifts are awakened, the Holy Spirit is encountered, and — above all — God is glorified.
-
Glory
We live to glorify God. Worship is for Him first— always. It is our offering, not our performance, and we seek to reflect His greatness in all we do.
Consecration
We are set apart for God, pursuing holiness, devotion, and maturity. We carry a sacred responsibility and commit to lives of integrity, dedication, and reverence.
Formation
We are lifelong disciples, shaped into Christlikeness—formed by His Word, refined byHis Spirit, and rooted in His love. Our worship flows from who we are becoming, not just what we do.
Presence
We carry His presence on and off the platform. We cultivate awareness of the Spirit’s work, inviting encounter and surrender. We are a meeting place between people and Jesus.
Excellence
We honour God by preparing well and pursuing growth. Preparation is worship; skill is service. We seek diligence, not perfection, giving our best as an act of love.
Kinship
We are a community of redemptive love—marked by encouragement, kindness, and joy. Our strength flows from authentic relationships, and our witness is strengthened by unity.
We’re excited to see your gifts in action and to explore how you might contribute to our Worship Team!
